Venice

With no plan for the day ahead, Erinn and I left for Venice. Arriving by train around 11:00, we walked out of the train station and were stunned by how beautiful Venice is. The weather was fantastic. It was sunny with a slight breeze all day long. We wandered around the small streets around Venice before finding a small place along the Grand Canal for lunch. I had a calzone and Erinn had cheese pizza.
Not wanting to pay 80€ for a gondola ride, Erinn and I got one day passes for the water buses. To get around, we hopped on and off the water buses all day. After lunch, we took our first water bus to get gelato at the best place in Venice. The gelato place was a few streets away from the Rialto Bridge so once we got our gelato we walked back to the bridge to sit, eat, and admire the city.
We finished our gelato and hopped back on the water bus and took it back to where we started. From there, we again went wandering until we found a peaceful place to sit in the sun and take in the wonderful view and weather. We relaxed in the sun, without getting sunburns, for a hour before getting on another water bus which took
us around all of Venice. We
got on at the beginning of the
line and got off at the end.
Along the way we got to see
the Bridge of Sighs, and much more!

After the line ended we got back on going the opposite way, to head back to catch our train back to Florence. With the gorgeous, sunny weather, Venice was a dream.
