Oxford Day 1

Blustery weather :)
This morning Anavi and I planned to take a 7:05 bus to Oxford. That didn't happen as we both woke up with our alarms and both decided to take the 9:05 bus instead. We put on the new while we were getting ready and found the terms they were using to describe the weather amusing. We had a breakfast of porridge, toast, and juice at the hotel before heading to the bus station.
We needed to take 2 different buses to get to Oxford. The first one from Braintree to Stansted and then from Stansted to Oxford. We missed the bus from Stansted to Oxford because our first bus driver was 3 minutes late to picking us up from Braintree. So in the end we ended up taking 3 buses to Oxford. One from Braintree to Stansted, one from Stansted to London, and then one from London to Oxford. We arrived in Oxford at 2:00 pm.
We went straight to our hostel to check in. It looked very small from the outside. But inside there are 7 dorm rooms with 12 beds each, a full kitchen, 3 lounge areas, and multiple bathrooms. Anavi and I are in room 4 beds 404 and 403. The best part of our room is the theme and the theme is Harry Potter. This makes me so very happy!
There are 4 other people in our dorm room tonight.
After readjusting our things, we left our hostel to find somewhere to each lunch. We found a cute cafe around the corner from Trinity University. While looking at the menu we discovered that they spell hummus "houmous". Weird. Once we finished our sandwiches we walked around the open parts of Trinity University. Even in the rain, this university is beautiful.

Our bunk. I've got bottom
and Anavi's got top
We then walked around Radcliffe Square. From there we walked through a park, along a river, and into a cute neighborhood. By this time it was almost 7:00 pm and we were hungry for dinner.

Sunset on the way back to our hostel
We found an Indian food restaurant. I ordered a few things I never tried before. I tried our drinks once they were served and it was not good. It tasted like greek yogurt and salt. Not a good combination so I ordered a water. This made me slightly nervous for our dinner. But there was no need for my nervousness as our dinner was delicious! Starting to get tired again, we headed back to our hostel after dinner.
I decided to give Anavi one more day before she truly realizes how much of a Harry Potter nerd I am. Tomorrow we'll be going to a few Harry Potter related places here in Oxford. I am so excited!
I will add photos to this post tomorrow. I'm having a slight technical difficulty getting my photos from my camera to my laptop. I know how to fix it I'm just to tired to do so now.
