5 things I learned about hostels while in England

Today was nothing interesting, just school and homework, so I have created a list of the 5 most important things I've learned about hostels so far.
1. The hostel itself can exceed your expectations but their bathrooms never will.
2. Do not trust one site's ratings of a hostel even if the site has been reliable before. Find the hostel on other sites and compare.
3. You will either talk with some very interesting and cool people that you wouldn't meet otherwise or you will talk to no one. It's not your fault, unless you don't try. Some people just don't want to socialize.
4. A majority of the staff in a hostel aren't from that area. Yes they may have grown up in the same country but not that specific town. They were once in your shoes, traveling hostel to hostel, until they found that particular hostel and decided to stay.
5. Each morning it WILL smell like an 8th grade boys locker room, even if it's an all girls dorm. Once everyone is up and showered, the smell with go away till the next morning.
