Bye Mom, I'm moving to Girona

I am in love. Girona is officially my favorite place in the whole world.
Today was our group tour of Girona and Figueres. We met at school at 8:30 am to depart for Girona. A few minutes into the bus ride, I fell asleep. My nap was glorious. I woke up ready to explore Girona.
Once we got off the buses, we were all separated into groups of 16. I was put into the second group along with Anavi and Krista. The tour was great. We got to see all the different parts of the historical side of Girona. With each stop, I fell more and more in love with Girona. Around each corner is something exciting to explore. Our tour guide was very informative and interesting. She is from Barcelona and is now living in Girona.
The bazaar was just on the
other side of this bridge
At the beginning of the tour, we passed a small bazaar and a few items caught my eye. While the tour guide was telling the group about one of the cathedrals, I went back to the bazaar and bought them. They are the perfect Christmas present for my sweet younger cousins, Penny and Marylee. As to not spoil the surprise, I'll reveal what these items are in December.  After the first cathedral, our guide took us up to see the ruins of the wall the Romans built when they controlled Spain. The view was breathtaking and not as high up as I expected.
From there, she took us through the Jewish Quarter of Girona. Though everything was close together, it was still terrific.
We were given an hour and twenty minutes for lunch. If I had not been starving I would have skipped lunch and explored more of Girona.
Krista, Anavi, and I looked around for a place to eat but found an ice cream shop instead. Dessert before lunch is the saying, right?
The ice cream flavors were so good! Krista got Lavender and Coconut ice cream (it was one flavor) and Anavi and I both got Baked Apple ice cream. I had caramelized apples, apple chunks, and apple cookie chunks on top. I may have gone a little wild with the apple flavored items but it was delicious! The shop also had Green ice cream (a basil ice cream). Some else got it and I tried it. Not my favorite flavor, by any means, but it wasn't that terrible.
We walked around a small flea market in the town square while eating out wonderful treats. Along the town square we found a small restaurant called Munich where we decided to eat lunch. I had a pork loin sandwich and a coffee. Though it was a lovely day it was quite chilly. The weather app lied to me, per usually, and I didn't bring a warmer coat. I got the coffee in hopes that it would warm me up. It did.
While waiting for the bill, a fight broke out in the corridor of the town square and everyone, excluding us, jumped up from their tables to go see the commotion. At first we thought someone was hurt but then quickly realized what was going on. To be on the safe side, we headed inside the restaurant to pay. While walking out we ran into two girls from our program who had been right next to the fight when it broke out. Apparently one of the men was very drunk and didn't like what the other man was saying. Why he was very drunk at 1:00pm on a Saturday, I don't know. What I do know is that tomorrow morning is going to be rough for him.
The ceiling
Back on the bus, we drove to Figueres. There we explored the Dalí Theatre and Museum. It was great but there was so much to look at in only a few hours. I was so impressed with all the different types and the amount of artwork Dalí made in his lifetime. My favorite was a picture he took that was made into a scene at the museum. It looked like a living room at one angle and from another it looked like a face. The lips were the couch, the nose was the fireplace, and the eyes were in the paintings on the walls. The museum itself was also a work of art. I loved the ceiling in the main room. It was accompanied by a wall of windows.
Krista and Brett
On the way out of the museum, Brett and I bought a few postcards in the gift shop. We couldn't help but take a few pictures going through the exit. We hopped back on the bus shortly after this picture but didn't leave the parking lot for about 30 minutes due to another bus trying to leave. The driver was having a lot of trouble getting out as the parking lot for the tour buses was extremely tiny. Once that bus left, we hit the road. We had an almost 2 hour bus ride home because of traffic but we made it home safe and sound.
P.S. Mom, I'm serious.
