Me on said horse :D |
In Catalan, they spell it Catalyna and in English it is spelled Cataluna. I've become accustomed to the Catalan spelling of many words because of all the signs and what not. Anyway, on Monday during our Spanish Life and Culture lecture we finished learning the history of Catalyna. It made it easier to understand more of the pieces in the museum having prior knowledge of it. I also got to sit on a fake horse!
After the museum, I went home to relax before going to the light show at Casa Batlló. It is one of Antoni Gaudí’s masterpieces. The light show showed the story of the architecture in this building. It identified the bones that made up the structure, balconies, and windows and how the top of the building is a dragon. The story depicted the dragon guarding a princess and a "knight in shinning armor" coming to save her. Of course, the knight defeated the dragon and they both lived happily ever after. Or so they lead us to believe. It was a phenomenal show. They had to have worked on it for at least a year to get the dimensions of the pictures to the exact size of the building. I was very impressed. I can't wait to go back and go inside Casa Batlló.
Before heading home Madi, Anavi, and I headed to the beach to take a look at night. It was beautiful.
Finally home at 1:40 and now writing this post, I am soooo ready for bed.
