All of our expectations for our apartment were surpassed by light-years! Our apartment is so nice! It's a two bedroom place with a medium size kitchen/living room area. We have granite floors and counters. All of our appliances are new and easy to work. We have two balconies; one in our living room and one connecting our bedrooms. Our bathroom has navy blue and white tiling. We were pleasantly surprised and grateful for our lovely apartment.
Before our grocery shopping, we took the metro to La Boqueria, a large daily market in Las Ramblas. It was just as great as all the guide books said it would be. There is almost every type of food available that you could imagine in this market.
After getting lunch and a treat we took the metro back to our apartment to go grocery shopping and to met Cammie to get the second and third set of our keys. When we got to our apartment there were only two sets of keys but four of us. Once Cammie left, we all finished unpacking and lounged around for a bit.
On the hunt for gluten free food for Krista and Jennifer, we headed out to Corte Inglés. It is basically a super Target but bigger and better. And a lot cheaper. On the way home Anavi and I stopped in a small corner cafe to get her some dinner to take back to our apartment. The cafe employee spoke no English so we practiced our Spanish and it was great! She understood all that we said and vice versa. While we were waiting for the food, another tourist came in. He spoke English but no Spanish. So we translated the employee's Spanish for him and helped order him his food. I now feel so confident and can't wait to try using more of this beautiful Spanish language!
