I am so very excited!! Going here has been a dream of mine since they opened the studios to the public. I still can't believe I am actually going today. I shall freak out every moment of the tour and be blissfully happy the entire time. I will probably take about a thousand photos. It's the perfect day to go as it is rainy and cold in London. It will be nice to be inside a warm place full of some of the coolest things in the world!
Yesterday was our last day in Brighton. With no set plans, we slept in. At 8:30 am we were up and getting ready for the day. For this trip, 8:30 am is sleeping in. We wandered into town to find a place to eat breakfast. 20 minutes into our walk, we found a small cafe where we both had a full English breakfast. I enjoyed all of it besides the grilled tomato. Tomatoes, by themselves, are not my thing. Tomatoes in something is good such as pasta sauce. After breakfast we went across the street to Superdrug.
Superdrug is basically the CVS of England. We spent almost an hour looking at everything in the store. The scents of the shampoo, body wash, etc. here smell so good! I ran out of shampoo and body wash so I got some. The body wash may be my favorite scent in the whole world! It is Mint and Tea Tree. I love it.
We went into a few thrift stores and then headed to the beach. It wasn't very cold but it was super windy and cloudy. The beach isn't sand, it's all pebbles are rocks. I liked that very much. Walking down the beach, on our way back to our hostel, we say an ice cream shop and decided to get some. It was a nice treat. Back at our hostel, we made more plans for London and double checked our bus numbers and transfers for these next few days.
Noo-noo! |
At about 3:30 pm we left to go to the Brighton Pier. It is similar to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. They have 2 huge arcades, fried food stands galore, and classic amusement park rides. We didn't play any of the arcade games or go on the rides. We walked all the way to the end of the pier and back. I did find an old friend from my childhood there. Noo-noo! He is the vacuum from the Teletubies.
While walking to the pier we passed a movie theater. They had a showing of the movie Suffragette at 5:45 pm. After the pier, we had an early dinner so we could make the 5:45 pm showing. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and some tea. I think I have had tea with almost every meal.
Suffragette was a phenomenal movie. It is a movie on the Women's Rights movement in England. The movie is very moving. I liked the slow awakening of Maud's (the main character) interest in the movement. Needing to be up very early we went back to our hostel after the movie.
We woke up at 5:30 am so we missed the bus we wanted to take to London. No worries as we caught the 6:25 am bus and are on it now. We're in London but should be to our bus station in about 40 minutes.
I will be walking into Warner Brothers Studio for my Harry Potter Studio Tour in 9 hours and 44 minutes. Yes I am counting. And already wearing my Harry Potter gear. I am ready.
